Hey Tristo,

Followed you here from RC. Great site, I like ya style, even though I think you're a bit harsh on Marge :)

@russds - I had a lot of fun thinking about all the best episodes and running through various quotes and references :) The Simpsons truly is a remarkable creation, and you take from it what you see for yourself.

For example, I once read that Homer was voted Father of the Year somewhere because despite his bursts of anger and lethargy he really does a good job of taking care of the kids in a sort of selfless way at times. Getting misty eyed now! Thanks for the comment.

@Sara - Glad you enjoy. Cheers!

@Mark - Aww you've sort of missed the point. Homer is so much more than a reckless overweight duffer! He quite often symbolises the 'everyman' USA in the town of Anywhere USA :D Good on ya mate, catch ya round.

Hi Tristan,

Thanks for this article. It serves as a good reminder that there's always something we can learn from a person no matter who he/she is, even if that person is nothing more than a reckless overweight buffoon.

Cheers~

Wow, great article, and idea. I love the Simpson's so i can really relate, and catch all the episode references. I have often thought the Simpson's was deeper than most might think. Although I hadn't really conceptualized the 'man of action' that Homer is. Great observation and analogy.
